“C’est Beyrouth”, or “it’s Beirut,” is a French term used to describe a state of chaos that has hit a place — a reference to the infamous chaos that lasted for more than 15 years in Lebanon’s capital due to the 1975-1990 civil war. Sadly, that term seems extremely accurate for describing Beirut today.
