The Federal Communications Commission’s much-anticipated vote on net neutrality has cast a glaring spotlight on a crucial — but often ignored — aspect of federal policymaking. In the run-up to Thursday’s vote, the FCC was inundated with nearly 22 million public comments on net neutrality (the principle that Internet service providers treat all information the same, regardless of source, content, purpose and destination).  The sheer volume of participation, as well as the role of technology in facilitating these comments (many of which are duplicates and some of which are fakes), has cast doubt on the integrity of the so-called “notice and comment” process.…  Seguir leyendo »
